I don’t care what you say, I’m not going through your history and upvoting everything.
Who is checking their own post history’s upvote count?
How to get someone banned.
Step 1: Copy the targets username but add a “-1” to the end of their name.
Step 2: Upvote every of their comment.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Congrats, you are an asshole!
Are mods actually dumb enough to assume someone would be dumb enough to include their own username in the vote brigading account though
Mods are no different from normal users. They’ll ban you if you say something they don’t like.
Eh, mods are kinda like cops, shoot first ask later.
…? I’m stupid. I don’t get it.
If I make an account with the username “Lost_My_Mind_1” and keep upvoting your comments, it would look like you were doing voting manipulation and both accounts get banned.
Oh, ok. I am stupid then. I thought you were saying that while logged into ERROR: Earth.exe has crashed, you would navigate to Lemmy.World/c/Lost_My_Mind-1 and downvote some kind of ghost account.
I was like “Small brain doesn’t understand. Big stomach is hungry!!! ME WANT FOOD!!!”
Hard NOT to upvote such a based comment history. ✊🏼
I sometimes do that, but only like 3 or 4 posts/comments, not the whole history.
When I read a comment that makes me double-take, I check whether this is a troll that spouts a certain kind of contrarian take on every thread (you know the kind I’m talking about), or if it’s someone who posts reasonably most of the time but will put out a mind-provoking thought once in a while. I think the latter is fine and part of healthy discourse, so I’ll upvote the unpopular take and some of their reasonable takes that I checked.
Coughing on people in 2020 gave me plenty of erections.
Detecting that would require a skill set.
You mean like a particular set of skills? Skills you acquire over a very long career?
If you let my post history go now, that’ll be the end of it. If you don’t, I will look for you. I WILL find you. And I will give you a discerning disapproving look. For like…a really long uncomfortable silent time.
Might it just be people being happy to recognise someone sharing their point of view?
