Why does the right keep declaring war on small towns and then occupying them with hate? Why does the right hate small communities?

Folks, here’s what’s happening: fiefdoms and minor lords are the final goal of the GOP. Farmers will have workers who are protected from deportation as long as they are in the farmer’s good graces. Likewise, H1B visas already operate like this - as long as you are loyal and useful you are protected from the sanctioned cruelty of the justice system.

Right wing thought does not care or support democracy. They don’t want people to be free so much as “free”. They want to control other people. It doesn’t matter what the laws are when it comes to themselves - they exist outside that system. They have their own country club system. The right wants petty tyrants.

Food and cooking blogs have an intro paragraph where the writer describes how the recipe they are going to talk about is related to their life. This is a joke about trauma dumping and pivoting into a fun idea, this joke being about the vast emotional difference between making a lava cake and holding a loved one as they die.

That’s overkill. I only need a mile and his shoes.

This is a really big deal because when they were elected in 2022, the Marcos and Duterte families had combined their respective power bases into a juggernaut of Filipino politics. But each family developed their power base in a different part of the country, Marcos secured the capital and the northern islands while Duterte rules Mindinao, the largest island, and the other islands in the south.

Then something happened and the families learned to not like each other.

This is a big problem as each has extensive government alliances to the families and each family runs their area like strongmen dictators. It won’t be a civil war, but they are prepared to be very uncivil.
