I judge you for this combo
The data would be hashed so any changes would be thrown out.
I’m Lazy
I don’t want to spend time trying to get games working. Either they work right away or I return them. I play older games that are well tested anyway.
Basically I am using Bottles so I don’t have to care.
Lutris doesn’t have a Windows version so I can’t run it in bottles.
I’m using bottles
That’s for Linux. I want something for Windows.
No Windows version though
I can download them from GOG. How do I use the data?
I wish that the Internet Archive would focus on allowing the public to store data. Distribute the network over the world.
I just don’t like the guilt tripping. I don’t mind tipping or buying something of value to me but expecting everyone to do that is silly.
Are expecting me to click on every single ad I see to support creators? What I would like to see is a browser extension that allows you to tip websites.
For that matter why is it my business to pay for profit content creators? I do what I please and it is up to them to figure it out. The only creators calling third party clients theft are the ones making millions
What’s up is ZFS. It is solid but the architecture is very dated at this point.
There are about a hundred different settings I could try to change but at some point it is easier to go btrfs where it works out of the box.
It is just less established which means it would be hard to get the ball rolling. It is doable but would take more time than just using a basic Windows environment with AD. You also have the issue with vendor support and end user knowledge but that’s a problem for another day.
I think they are a bit harder to manage
This is a topic that is pretty well tested. Basically the data is validated when received.
For instance in IPFS data is tracked by its hash. You request something by a CID which is just a hash.
There are other distributed networks and they all have there own ways of protecting against attacks. Usually an attack requires a huge amount of resources.
