Stay strapped or get clapped…
It feels like they picked the worst screenshot intentionally though when talking about that YouTuber…
Like, maybe it’s a new kind of magnifier that you flip up to use instead of off to the side to not use. But that AR just doesn’t look like whoever built it knew what they were doing.
Like the BLM protests where it was obvious people went out and bought ARs just for the event and didn’t even put sights on beforehand.
That being said don’t wander around gun YouTube on your account it only takes a couple videos for the algorithm to decide you’re a gun nut, and that comes along with a bunch of other rightwing videos, because normally it does.
But Reagan is the one who passed Cali’s gun laws, and he did so because people he didn’t like were marching with guns.
Obviously it would have made more sense to start when Biden was in office, but it seems like unless protestors carry guns, the cops will just beat them without a second thought.
If they even think some have guns tho… Cops won’t do shit.
Welp, there’s nothing I can do for you. And I’d rather spend my time on people who are still willing to fight.
Have a nice life tho
Because you’re primarily looking at image posts…
Older people, 30-40s grew up when bandwidth was a limiter, we’re used to having to decide if an image is worth the bandwidth.
We just grew up with vastly different internets.
You all could just load a bunch of stuff and ignore what you didn’t want. We’re stuck in the mindset that bandwidth matters, so a bunch of stupid memes we aren’t interested taking up bandwidth and screen real estate just feels off.
It feels less like it’s being “offered” and more like it’s being shoved down our throats.
Bandwidth is going to be the new “turn off the lights when you leave” for the Oregon Trail generation. In our heads we still need to be cognizant of how much we’re using, even tho subsequent generations never seem to think about it. They’ve just never had to.
Happens to every generation in some way or another.
Nah. The rich just realized they can buy off the only two options.
That’s why since Bill Clinton both parties have moved to the right, deregulated political donations, and suddenly they need over a billion dollars each election, even though no one you’ve ever met has been influenced by a political ad.
They don’t need that much money, they just say they do to rationalize why they keep moving right.
If we ran a candidate that agreed with Dem voters, we’d never need to spend close to a billion to beat trump.
And to clarify neither party is “fiscally responsible” now a days, if they were they’d plan long term and invest in things like education. But both parties prefer dumb voters who blindly vote straight ticket.
What I didn’t expect was what My friend said after making a Lemmy account on her chosen website — “I don’t like it because it looks like Old Reddit. I have to click on each post to view it”.
Sometimes people tell you something and it just ends a friendship…
How is that different than trump again?
With all due respect then, stop playing.
Don’t stick around to talk about how you no longer care, go spend your time on communities about different things.
Sometimes people need to disengage, just don’t half ass it. If you need a break from it, actually take a break. Hopefully you come back before the next election. But if you just talk about needing a break and never take one, you’ll never stop needing the break.
There’s also this:
The detective also testified that Stines tried calling his daughter on Mullins’ phone and his own phone just before the shooting. Investigators found no weapon on Mullins or in his chambers, the detective said.
In another article it said that wasn’t the only time the judge’s number had called the sherrif’s daughter
This is Lechter County, it’s where a special was filmed about Appalachian poverty back in the 60s. Like, modern stereotypes of hillbillies are literally based on these families. The Mullins’ were one of the first family’s there, this wasn’t just any judge, it was a judge from one of the families who’s ran this county for over 200 years, and not just any county, one of the poorest in the nation.
Occam’s razor and all, but I’ve had my eye on this one for a while now. Some crazy shit is liable to come out of this, there’s a lot of skeletons hidden in hollers.
And there’s a very good chance the judge and sheriff were both wildly corrupt.
Bro can’t even figure out how to change a password, and you expect them to find the right community on Lemmy to post to?
https://help.disneyplus.com/article/disneyplus-change-email-password
They need to do “forgot password” and then change it.
have plans of dismantling the whole government, healthcare, and education systems in the US. They have plans to help further the Rights push for voter suppression and ways to cheat (and/or exploiting loopholes without shame).
All things Reagan also worked towards…
It’s the same thing, we just find out about it faster now than we used to. And the country was starting out in a better place when Reagan had his turn as far as regulations to prevent it.
So things will suck, but it’s nothing new. That doesn’t mean give up, it means keep fighting and plan to keep fighting for as long as we’re alive even if a Dem is president in 2028, don’t get complacent. Because both parties have spent the time since Reagan deregulating shit like campaign finance, which has allowed the wealthy to tighten their grip on both parties
Yep. None of this is new, it’s the same song and dance.
I’ve criticized both parties for acting like voters have the memory of goldfish, but it’s getting harder and harder to argue they’re wrong.
People don’t remember the shit they literally lived thru already.
Certainly the game is rigged. Don’t let that stop you; if you don’t bet you can’t win.
As true today as in 1987 when Heinlein wrote it
For an honest attempt at it?
No, it’ll never be a fair fight.
But if we want a Dem primary in 2028, we need to keep demanding it, and we need to solidify around a candidate ASAP.
Voters beat the party in 08, and they’ve had to walk back a lot of what Hillary changed in 2016 to prevent that.
I still feel crazy that everyone ignored what happened to NH this “primary” but I don’t think we’re really at the point where Dems just appoint candidates without a primary.
We just need a candidate that refuses to concede until more than a handful of chosen states vote.
On a side note “Life and Times of Tim” is one of my favorite shows and why Im always willing to explain things when I see that little picture of his face.
But mate…
America has literally already had a literally demented Republican president who was an actor when younger.
This is just a reboot of Reagan, and while we may hear about Trump’s stuff while it’s happening, I’d be surprised if he causes more harm in the next four years than Reagan did.
And when Reagan got too bad, his VP did take the reigns and the next election.
Back then it was HW Bush, who was the ex-head of the CIA and the son of one of the Business Plot leaders where American capitalists were floating the idea of overthrowing FDR and the American government to join WW2 with the actual nazis…
So if Vance ends up running things in 2 years and being the candidate in 4 years?
Shits been worse before.
For fucks sake, Reagan’s handling of AIDS and literally smuggling crack into poor communities is still fucking shit up forty years later, not even getting into Reaganomics.
They both sucked, and Trump’s next four years will suck. But it ain’t the end of America unless everyone gives up without a fight.
The charges, including election interference and classified documents retention, could be refiled after Trump’s presidency.
Yeah, like he’s not going to view that as something hanging over his head the next four years…
I wouldn’t go that far back, or say we’ve been a fascist country for that long.
I put a lot of blame on Dems closing ranks for Bill back in the 90s.
The root of the argument is semantic: The President has testified that he did not touch Lewinsky sexually. Lewinsky’s testimony, and that of her friends and colleagues claim he did.
But the bottom line is whether this constitutes an impeachable offense. Again, Starr’s report claims there is ample evidence of Clinton lying under oath, and concealing evidence of his relationship with Lewinsky to begin impeachment proceedings. Lawyers for Clinton declared today that the President’s transgressions were “personal,” but do not constitute an impeachable offense.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/did-clinton-lie-under-oath/
Like, people still act like trump has some mastermind legal strategy when he’s just ripping off Bill by blurring the line between president and person.
At the end of the day for decades both parties have agreed that regardless of which one of them is in charge, no one gets any consequences from the others.
We can’t count on those groups holding each other accountable. Voters need to hold at least one party to a higher standard, or literally no one is ever going to be held accountable.
If only we still had another month with a Dem president and his AG controlling the DOJ…
I mean a month is a short time, ideally we’d have had that the last four fucking years and had plenty of time to handle this.
At the end of the day, the only people who have an opinion about Palestine are politically engaged leftists who want to see the genocide stop and anyone watching Fox News who wants Israel to win. For the rest of America unfortunately, it doesn’t matter to them. That’s a fight happening halfway around the world between 2 nations that aren’t us.
If Kamala had got the “genocide is bad and we shouldn’t fund it” voters, she’d have won and trump would be getting sentenced soon for his crimes…
You can argue that most don’t care. And while I disagree I’m not going to bother looking for a survey.
Because it’s a moot point.
It doesn’t matter if a majority of voters care. It’s the right thing to do, and for a Dem candidate “doing the right thing” still translates to an increase in votes regardless of if people care about the specific victims of this genocide.
So again, we punished democrats in the way democracy punishes people who actually believe in democratic processes and let republicans who don’t give 2 shits about democratic processes get to run rampant in the governmen
You’re still blaming voters…
Kamala, her campaign team, and the DNC lost their election.
Their job is to convince voters to vote for them. Instead every “compromise” they tried to steal republican voters gained zero votes and lost people who were trying to hold their nose for her
Thanks for responding though to clarify. I just don’t think anything we tell each other will be productive
Weird, I never saw one of those before, but if it works it’s way better than hanging off to the side.
And I think you’re forgetting how much cops are cowards. They won’t go into a school when it’s one kid with an AR and they have a seat team.
They’ll say they want a firefight all fucking day, when they get the opportunity they shit their pants.
But we know how they treat unarmed protestors, and the difference when there’s guns present.
