I hate to say it, but there are plenty of other lightning rods in the party. Heck Nikki Haley could manage to pull a coup inside the GOP if he dies. That’s the real problem for normal people. Whomever the GOP nominates they will rally around like the second coming.

Just because they happen to be a minority doesn’t mean they don’t show up to the polls. The poll totals in the deep south, where the majority of black Americans live, have historically shown that black Republicans, who are mostly “Christian”, show up to the polls far more than their black Democrat counterparts. Exactly the same as white “Christian” Americans.

Snowden may have done something illegal, though my interpretation of both the UCMJ and Federal Whistleblower laws, as well as my recollection of what he released, says that you are a corporatist that is just salty that your favorite MIC corporation got outed for breaking federal laws.

I would agree with this, going back to Reagan. I technically saw the last few months of the Carter administration when I was born. I’m just not totally sure if Reagan left Bush Sr. a crappy economy, or if Bush Sr. managed to completely torpedo the economy in 4 years, allowing Clinton to perform “an economic miracle.”

As a veteran, and former/ kinda current Captain, of the USN, yes. Provided that they fall under the protections for whistleblowers, which both Edward Snowden, and Chelsea Manning fell into rather neatly, according to US federal laws.
